Sector confidence in Works Insurance boosted thanks to our Contract Works Academy

We’ve fully unveiled our Contract Works Academy to brokers and insurers from today. The new online training platform offers instant access to works expertise; with unique guidance articles, videos and support materials all designed to supercharge contract works knowledge.

From this new, unique online tool, brokers and insurers can access dedicated resources to learn how to insure works, as well as develop their expertise in all related areas such as joint names contracts, liability, risk management and non-negligent insurance. Technical guidance is also offered on topics such as party wall, construction, regulation and legislation.

Broken down into fully searchable bite sized topics, and alongside a comprehensive glossary, each resource has been newly generated and it’s all designed to help brokers and insurers upskill their works knowledge and increase confidence in renovation insurance principles.

The new online training platform is complemented by Renovation Underwriting’s long-established, highly regarded CPD training programme. Broker Relationship and Training Officer at Renovation Underwriting Natalia Child was integral to the development of the new online training platform.

Commitment to sharing its knowledge and expertise has always been key to our approach. We were the first in the sector to provide Continuing Professional Development sessions on contract works; a decision led by the fact that this unique content is not available within the wider CPD curriculum.

Our CPD training sessions are available to private client and commercial teams, as well as wider project professionals; with presentations delivered face to face or virtually, and hosted by an in-house RU trainer. The impact of this approach is clear to see, with brokers and insurers benefiting from over 600 hours of CPD training from our team in 2021 alone.

The introduction of Contract Works Academy is set to significantly increase the scale of works training on offer and deepen awareness and understanding across the sector. Platform access is available to partners that hold a TOBA with Renovation Underwriting and all time spent in sessions will count towards annual structured CPD requirements where relevant.
